stevehesterman asked: I’m Looking for anyone who remembers, or associates, residents of Lexington Kentucky’s Christ Center during early 70’s. It was a down-town inner-city mission to street people. It was started and run by a couple of Asbury Seminary graduates. The only name I rember from the leadership was Steve Brighton. It was non-denominaltional Charismatic during the days of Jesus Freaks Jesus people as we were known in those days. It was actually a commune of live-in young people who had been born again. The building was an old two story brick school building which has now been converted into a business building with shops and businesses. The old shcool building was ideal for housing multiple individules and couples in its variouse old school rooms. Christ Center was a great turning point for me- there as a new Christian I got my start down the straight and narrow. I lived there most of 1973. I had many friends there whom I’ve not heard from since. Hello…is anyone out there still ?
Additional Info:
1. This is not a church, it was a communal inner-city mission now disbanded.
2. It was located in old downtown Lexington KY.
3. I do not live there- I reside in Northwest Coast California.
4. I can only research and seek my old friends co-residents from afar.
5. It has now been almost 35 years since I last had contact with any of them.
